NATCHEZ STRONG
about

The Williams Dumas Building Restoration Foundation non-profit organization is primarily about restoring this historic Dumas Drug Store, Soda Fountain building and continuing the legacy of being a significant presence and aid to the city of Natchez, its citizens and those in the surrounding communities.

A goal is to be ‘here’ for the less fortunate as were the Dumas who built this building; and continue the legacy of the Williams family who purchased this building years ago with the desire to restore it and serve the community out of it.

The plan is to stabilize and restore ‘the building’ in sections and phases, iteratively and incrementally. As portions of the build are restored, the Williams and friends of the organization will:
-
Provide after school tutoring to elementary/middle school students, once sections/portions of the building are deemed safe for occupants
-
Provide a small take home snack to curb hunger pains
-
Work with other non-profits and food banks to feed the hungry
-
Provide workshops to increase student proficiency in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Workshops will be both virtual and in-person.
-
Provide scholarships to those who need funding to acquire and pursue their dreams
